Ja, das ist wirklich ein Single Malt von Ballantine's abgefüllt. Mit dieser Serie von einzelnen Abfüllungen bestimmter Destillerien möchte Ballantine's auf die sog. "Signature Single Malts" hinweisen, die bei Ballantine's das Geschmacksherz der Blends bilden. Neben dem Glentauchers (Nr. 3) und dem Miltonduff (Nr. 2) ist es der Glentauchers (Ballantine Series No 1). Laut Ballantine's formt der Glenburgie das Herz der Blends.

Und man könnte sagen, dass dies die einzige Destillerie-Abfüllung dieser Destillerie darstellt.

Nase: A luxurious nose kicks off with golden syrup, white grapes and cooking apples before malt and marzipan reveal along with sweet cereals. Stewed pear and a hint of brown sugar arrive after some time.

Geschmack: Caramel, white chocolate and vanilla emerge through fizzing ginger and white pepper. Mandarin, lychee and deep dark fruits develop to form an impressively fruity backdrop.

Finish: Relatively short, with flickers of spice.
